Technical Specialist (Network Engineer)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN networks.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
  • Implement and manage network security measures (firewalls, access controls, IDS/IPS).
  • Perform network capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Support and administer routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to enhance overall infrastructure.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
  • Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and tools.
  • Manage IP addressing, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), and VLAN configurations.
  • Provide support for network-related incidents and service requests.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s / Diploma degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, administration, or related roles.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network routing/switching.
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or similar network devices.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
  • Understanding of firewall management, VPN configuration, and network segmentation.
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
  • Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell) are an advantage.

Certifications (Preferred): CCNA / CCNP / CompTIA Network+ / Juniper JNCIA or equivalent
